Shroud of Turin

Daniel W. Ahrens

Some important personal findings

One of the most important discoveries in history, is the Shroud of Turin. Most would say that from the above photo it is relatively unimpressive. But let's look for a moment of the fascinating history behind the Shroud, and the technologies involved at the time of it's discovery that can possibly prove that it is indeed authentic and not a fake as some may believe.

First I want to say that this web site is dedicated mostly to UFO's and Alien abductions. It is also dedicated to the spirit world and paranormal. This does not mean that my mind is limited to a belief that God does not enter in to the grand scheme of this universe. God has many wonders we have yet to understand that our normal limited thinking can provide us with. There is no gap in the belief of God and Aliens. We can incorporate them in the same sentence if we choose. God's wonders will only continue to astound us for many years to come. God created this wonderful world we live on, and who's to say he didn't expand those miracles to other world\plain s in his huge creation. His wonders will never cease, and we must praise him for giving us so much to ponder upon.

Now back to the Shroud of Turin. We can date the shroud's history to the 1300's and through some information possibly earlier. There are many web sites out there that goes into it's history and into the many places that the shroud has been, as well as the scientific research that has been done on the shroud. In December of 1532 A Fire in the Sainte Chapelle, causes a small hole in the corner of the folded shroud from a drop of molten silver falling onto it. It was later patched and that is what we see as small triangles on the photos of the shroud. Over the years scientists have analyzed pollen and dust from the fibers of the Shroud to better understand it's age. In 1978 a barrage of tests including, thousands of photographs, photomicrographs, x-rays and spectra are done to it by the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP). Many have concluded that the shroud is simply of mediaeval origin through carbon 14 dating and have passed it off as just an elaborate hoax from the 1300's.

I have a different outlook on the Shroud of Turin. I look at the photo as authentic without the use of carbon 14 dating and thousands of dollars of scientific equipment. If you look at the photo above it is pretty light to make out much detail, but with using a good photo program and adjusting the contrast and brightness, as well as converting it to a negative image you can without editing the photo's content bring out some important detail. Below is a result of the image at the top of the page put through the negative and contrast settings on a photo program. This photo was also rotated 90 degrees to better see the image. To the right is an area that is a close-up of the abdomen. The unusual thing that I first see is the detail of all the features on the entire shroud is spectacular. With such detail you should surely see a navel just above the folded hands. As you see there is no belly button on this image. If you were living in the 1300's and wanted to fake such a piece of material such as a Shroud that covered Jesus, you would make him look as any other man. That day and age you would not think of the possibility that Jesus was brought into this world by God himself and it was far from a normal birth (i.e. no umbilical cord). This should prove that the Shroud of Turin is more than an elaborate hoax, but offers us an authentic look at the face of Jesus Christ himself.}
